Trying to find our position in life can sometimes be difficult. From the presence of mental health conditions that make life more challenging to the environments we’ve been exposed to, there are always things that can negatively impact our lives. Working with vulnerable populations, I have helped people take back control and find meaning in their lives. Through
using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Client-Centered, and Solution-Focused approaches as core instruments of care, negative thought patterns can be transformed into more positive outlooks to create a more encouraging future.

 

As a counsellor, my motivation is to support youth and adults in areas such as anxiety, depression, neuro-divergence, social and peer problems, emotion regulation, addiction recovery,
and trauma. Through a supportive and cooperative environment and dedication to helping clients
accomplish their goals, we can help create the life you envision and add skills that can help navigate inevitable future life challenges.

Welcome to my therapy practice. I understand that deciding to attend therapy is a significant step, whether you're addressing past experiences or working toward a brighter future. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and compassionate space where you can explore your concerns at your own pace.

I recognize that each individual is unique, which is why I offer a variety of therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and solution brief focus therapy tailored to your specific needs. I have experience working with clients facing a range of challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and survivors of sexual abuse.

At the core of my practice are three principles: collaboration, empathy, and authenticity. I believe in the inherent capacity for healing within each person, and that your journey toward recovery is deeply personal. Together, we will create a trusting environment where you can feel truly heard and understood. You are the expert of your own life, and my role is to support you as you build on your strengths, enhance your personal growth, and pursue lasting change.

 20 years ago I began work in mental health as respite care. I later completed my professional goals of becoming a psychologist. Today my focus is Trauma and Addictions with youth and adults and experience with Veterans and First Responders. From the moment we are born we search for connection, love, and a sense of belonging. Growing up, in life this journey can be fraught with struggle, trauma, pain, and loss. But there is a silver lining. Amidst adversity we find courage and authenticity. We can find acceptance and the understanding of self compassion and empathy, that leads into true connection with ourselves and others.

​My practice has taken me across different areas to build my experience and skill. From my work as a behavioral interventionist with children to addictions treatment, to work with adolescents, adults, Veterans and First Responders. Counseling services in: Trauma, Addictions, Grief and Loss, Suicide, Depression, Anxiety, and Personality Disorders.

​​Taking the step to accessing support can be fraught with fear and shame. We may feel disconnected and second guess our need for help or the belief that help exists. We may have lost hope for ourselves. I am here to say that it is never too late or too soon. Safety and healing can be found in the calming space created by the therapeutic relationship.

honestly talk about the challenges you are facing and create a plan to
overcome them.

It can be difficult to be vulnerable and takes strength to open up to
difficult emotions. Similarly, seeking out therapy can be stressful,
but ultimately is a powerful choice in your healing and growth. My
background is in sports performance, emotional processing, and anxiety
management, using modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My approach is collaborative, and centres on your own values and
unique experiences.

I want to honour and deeply respect your willingness to grow and seek
out of healing. Anyone, from any background is welcome and together we will create a space for you to flourish in your life. I am committed
